What is the ECS Card, and why do I need one?

The Electrical Labourer ECS card is for people working in the electrical industry, usually while completing their electrical training modules (apprenticeships, NVQs, etc.) in a supportive role to assist electricians under supervision. These cards are essential for accessing construction sites and extend to various environments.

This online course is the fastest and most efficient way to gain an approved ECS Health & Safety exemption - the Safety Passport Alliance (SPA) Core H&S Course.

Why do an online course rather than a classroom one?

  • Request your training anytime during the six-month course access period
  • One-day online training with assessment (8 AM - 4 PM) via video chat (Zoom or Teams)
  • Twice per week availability (Monday or Friday)
  • You can still ask the tutor questions if needed
  • Realistic online mock exams which you can practice with
  • 30 days money-back guarantee (not available once the course is started or completed)
  • Receive a certificate for SPA - Safety Passport (enabling you to apply for the ECS card)

Eligibility and requirements

If you already have one of the accepted qualifications (such as C&G 2365, 2330 or 2360) or are a fully qualified electrician, you can apply for your ECS card immediately on the ECS website. Although this course may be beneficial, it is not a necessity. You will only need to pass the ECS Health, Safety & Environmental Assessment to apply for your ECS card.

If, however, you are only at the start of your training and you still need to get one of the approved qualifications, this online course is exactly what you need. Completing the Safety Pass Alliance (SPA) H&S Core Day course is a valid exemption that can be used when applying for the ECS card.

Proof of engagement in the electrotechnical industry
