How would you like to obtain the ECS Electrical Labourer Card from the comfort of your own home?
Get your ECS Card with three easy steps:
Submit proof of your engagement in the electrotechnical industry (explained below)
Complete the one-day Safety Passport Alliance (SPA) Core H&S Course via video chat (Zoom, Teams, etc.)
Complete the final multiple-choice assessment
And when you are ready, apply for your card directly on the ECS website (ecscard.org.uk).
What is the ECS Card, and why do I need one?
The Electrical Labourer ECS card is for people working in the electrical industry, usually while completing their electrical training modules (apprenticeships, NVQs, etc.) in a supportive role to assist electricians under supervision. These cards are essential for accessing construction sites and extend to various environments.
This online course is the fastest and most efficient way to gain an approved ECS Health & Safety exemption - the Safety Passport Alliance (SPA) Core H&S Course.
Why do an online course rather than a classroom one?
Eligibility and requirements
If you already have one of the accepted qualifications (such as C&G 2365, 2330 or 2360) or are a fully qualified electrician, you can apply for your ECS card immediately on the ECS website. Although this course may be beneficial, it is not a necessity. You will only need to pass the ECS Health, Safety & Environmental Assessment to apply for your ECS card.
If, however, you are only at the start of your training and you still need to get one of the approved qualifications, this online course is exactly what you need.
Completing the Safety Pass Alliance (SPA) H&S Core Day course is a valid exemption that can be used when applying for the ECS card.
Proof of engagement in the electrotechnical industry
Examples of acceptable proof include:
A written reference from your employer to confirm that the company employs you.
If you work for an employment business (recruitment agency), a signed letter from the company to confirm your dates of engagement as an Electrical Labourer
An electrical qualification or certificate or enrolment on a relevant course
An offer letter, employment contract or payslip from an electrotechnical business or similar.
You will be asked to submit this evidence before commencing the one-day online course.
